Download an Excel Spreadsheet to summarize PacFIN data into the management categories used in the IFQ program.

This is helpful when landings occurred in more than one State and to summerize Slope and Shelf rock.

IFQ CALCULATOR

The Pacific Fishery Management Council has approved the implementation of an Individual Fishermen's Quota program for the Pacific Groundfish Trawl Fishery. Quota Shares will be initially allocated to individual Groundfish Trawl Permit owners and (unfortunately) 20% of the Pacific whiting will be allocated to Fish Processors.

At this time permit owners have not been told what amount of shares they can expect. The formula used to allocate share is based in part on catch history and in part on an equal allocation.

The links below will provide you with a IFQ Calculator that will estimate the quota share that a permit owner could receive. Individual catch history is required to be entered into the calculator to make this estimate.

Additional there are links to information about the intersector allocation of groundfish which provides a portion of the total catch to the trawl fishery. There is also a total landings table which shows the amount of landing with in the trawl fleet that occurred by the boats that left the fishery during the buy-back program and the amount that was landed by those boats that remain.

Lastly there is a step by step instructions on how to install the Calculator.

whiting share, uses the 2009 whiting OY, and uses corrected landing tables)

Download the ODF&W data request form.

If you provide your Groundfish Limited Entry Permit number, ODF&W staff will send you data from PacFIN that contains the species breakout of the rockfish. If the permit number is not provided, you will only receive fish ticket market category data.
